What gsm means, and what it doesn't
Gsm is grams per square meter — a paper's weight, nothing more. It is not a grade or a quality tier by itself. The fine-art print is on 200gsm matte art paper; the poster, when it's sold, is on lighter 189gsm matte poster paper — a real, honest difference in paper, not a marketing one. Canvas is not paper at all: it's a woven cloth, 400gsm, stretched over a wood frame.
Is canvas better than a poster?
Neither is "better" — they're different products for different walls. Stretched canvas ships stretched on a 38mm bar, ready to hang with no frame or glass. A poster ships flat-rolled in a tube, small and inexpensive, and needs its own frame if you want one framed.
Canvas vs. a framed print
Framed prints are not offered yet — we're holding them until we've ordered one ourselves and inspected the corners for damage in transit, not because of price or demand. Today, canvas is the only ready-to-hang option this shop actually sells: no glass, no separate frame to buy, no assembly.
Rolled canvas vs. poster
This shop ships canvas stretched only — never rolled and unstretched. A poster is the one that ships rolled, in its own tube.
Is the picture the same?
Yes. Every finish starts from the exact same master file — nothing is re-shot or redrawn between them. Canvas uses MirrorWrap: the edges of the picture are mirrored around the 38mm stretcher bar rather than cropped away, so nothing of the composition is lost at the wrap.
Where it's made
The fine-art print and canvas are both produced by the same US print partner. Rolled prints ship by USPS; canvas ships separately, by UPS in its own package — a stretched canvas travels differently than a rolled tube, so the two are never combined in one shipment.
